About the position

An immediate opportunity exists for a hands-on candidate with strong technical and communication skills to support technology development and transition to commercial products. This position will require working in a team environment while providing subject matter expert support in chemistry and materials. The ideal candidate should have experience working on multiple projects simultaneously as well as understanding of electrochemical devices and trouble-shooting issues.


  • Characterization of new catalyst and membrane materials for electrolyzers.
  • Documentation of test plans, data analysis, literature summaries, and technical reports.
  • Test cell assembly and operation and inspection of parts before and after testing.
  • Manufacture of catalyst inks and application on substrates.
  • Electrode fabrication from powders, polymer membranes, and porous substrates.
  • Write reports regarding testing methods, influencing factors and results.



BS in Chemistry or chemical engineering or equivalent with at least 3-5 years of industry experience. required. PhD in the area of Chemistry/Chemical Engineering with emphasis in electrochemistry is also acceptable.

Required skills and abilities

  • Good hands on lab skills in wet chemistry and bench techniques.
  • Working knowledge of electrochemical devices.
  •  Working familiarity with safe work practices and materials safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Experience in characterization of fuel cell/electrolyzer or related materials.
  • Demonstrated skills in major electrochemical and material characterization methods.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks including working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated hands-on research and problem-solving with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with test cell design and prototyping.
