About the position

As a commissioning Specialist in Nel Hydrogen – Project Execution Department, you will be responsible for installation and commissioning of hydrogen fueling stations mainly in Europe but also in the US and Asia. Your responsibility starts at the installation of modules and ends at the commissioning of the equipment with handover to our service department.
Your base in Denmark will be here in Herning but you will work cross-organizationally in an international, technical environment, which will also require some international travel.
As a Commissioning Specialist there will be flexible working hours. You will report directly to the Project Manager and Installation & Commissioning Team Lead.
You will also be at the disposal to our service department for troubleshooting when needed.
Traveling days from 175 to 200 days per year must be expected

Responsibilities

  • Working in the EU installation and service team, which consists of Project Manager, Project Engineer, Commissioning Team Lead, Service Technicians and Service Engineers
  • Commissioning of on-site equipment
  • Execution of product warrantees
  • Providing unforeseeable troubleshooting—which will require some flexibility for unplanned tasks
  • Ensuring that all executed actions are based on Nel Hydrogen safety standards and follow related customer specifications
  • Work according to risk evaluations in the workshop and onsite
  • Documenting potential failures and quality issues, which will include providing feedback to the responsible manager or engineer using existing protocol and data recording systems
  • Working alongside subcontractors and other technicians onsite, especially regarding safety topics
  • Reporting to the responsible Site Supervisor, Project Manager, or Installation Team Lead
  • Fill the Installation/Service wheel to learn about new products and compensate phases of peak workloads in the field
  • Working with PLC and VLT
  • R410 and Co2 Cooling systems

Required skills and abilities

You possess relevant educational background and experience in installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of complex machines or plants. You have a strong, technical oriented mindset, are curious, and can quickly understand complex technical systems to find potential technical failures and quality issues. You can provide support on technical solutions to our Development & Engineering department. You work structured, consistent, and clear with documentation, follow work procedures in a safe and efficient manner. You will be able to work independently and in teams, are highly skilled in both written and spoken English.

 

Requirements

  • Relevant technical training as an electrician or mechanical technician
  • Good knowledge of complex systems
  • Experience working with flammable gases and high pressures
  • General understanding of work safety procedures and experience in risk evaluation
  • Experience with service work in the oil and gas industry, or similar, where there are high demands on security
  • Understanding of customer requirements in customer communication
  • Experienced in both independent and teamwork, plus high flexibility, and ability to start work with short notice
  • Experience working within established installation procedures, instructions, bill of materials, norms, and standards
  • Good knowledge in the remote operation and monitoring of complex systems
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area in the workshop and onsite
  • Skilled in trouble shooting and monitoring and use of monitoring equipment

 

Preferred skills and abilities

  • Knowledge in quality management systems and document management systems
  • Knowledge of using and installing test and logging equipment
  • Experience with R410 and Co2 cooling systems
  • Experience with membrane compressors
