About the position

Are you passionate about contract management and development in a commercial set-up and do you want to become part of a global start-up within sustainability? Look no further, here you will find a newly established influential role as Contract Manager in Sales at Nel Hydrogen A/S in Herning.

Your objective is, through team management and a structured approach, to be guarantor for uniform and high-quality standardization, process alignment and governance in all cycles of contract management. With a confident approach you and your team drive and deliver on all pre- and post-order activities in a collaborate way with other departments such as the Corporate Legal Department, Management, Sales Managers, Product Management & Application Engineering.

You are fueled by efficient collaboration and knowledge-sharing at all levels and across the entire value-chain in Nel Hydrogen A/S. Also, you are able to translate strategy into specific actions and deliveries according to both responsibilities and tasks in your department. You take pride in developing the competencies in your team with the aim to maintain a truly high-success rate in our bidding process. To make all this happen, you have two highly skilled and motivated team members reporting to you, both located at Nel Hydrogen A/S in Herning. Contracting also includes Technical and Commercial Sales Support. You will report to Jens, who is Senior Director – Global Sales.

As our new Contract Manager, you will contribute strongly to Nel Hydrogen A/S being an attractive and professional vendor to all of our clients, both local and global, in this you secure a strong customer approach enabling us to prioritize and focus on the most critical and important bids



  • Accomplish department objectives by managing staff planning and evaluating department activities.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, Performance dialogue, (incl. facilitate introduction programs for new employees).
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment within your department.

Sales aspects – commercial/legal and technically

  • Draft, revise and review a variety of contracts incl. framework and T&C’s and any other relevant appendices like SoW and compensation.
  • Align with corporate legal department, sales reps./customers to discuss/align on combined legal and business matters.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the different teams (EU, US and Korea) linking to contract generation/T&C’s relevant for the region.
  • Support the sales team with templates, formats, reporting structure, KPI’s.

Reporting & Processes

  • Implementing and maintaining procedures/office administrative systems relevant to sales.
  • Assist corporate legal department in maintaining the organization’s internal contract documents.
  • Maintaining CRM to sales leads/opportunities and ensure Sales Management is kept updated in real time (KPI Dashboard).
  • Support Pre-bid meetings as well as kick-off meetings/status meetings etc. define target group, split responsibilities, note-taking, follow-up.
  • Support Sales Management in monthly reporting, updating key documents and making presentations etc. (e.g. Global Order Tracker, Business Review).
  • Ad hoc tasks for Sales Management.



We expect you to hold a MSc in Business Administration and Commercial law or similar and we welcome a technical background / interest.

Required skills and abilities

Most likely you have experience from a similar role, having gained pro-found learnings in an intersection between legal and commercial competencies. This might even be the time where you step up from a senior specialist role and start building on your leadership capabilities? We would really like if you also bring international experience with you for this exciting journey. We imagine you can tick these boxes:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of legal terminology — about 5 years of experience
  • Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional/regional team.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • As a person you are openminded and able to interact with colleagues and other stakeholders being customers, partners and/or suppliers.
  • Result oriented and knows how important it is to follow up on deliverables.
  • You take ownership of tasks and execute them with the highest level of integrity.
  • You are a team player but also work independently.
  • Ambitious, not only on your own behalf but also on behalf of Nel Hydrogen A/S.
