About the position

An immediate opportunity exists for an Electro-Mechanical Lab Technician to work in an exciting team environment within the Engineering Department of Nel Hydrogen. This position will require working closely with cross-functional teams to perform sub-system and system build, test, and maintenance. Projects range from managing test stands, building sub-assemblies/systems, executing test plans, and collecting/summarizing test data.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and be able to read mechanical drawings, work orders or other instructions to build up test hardware
  • Understand and be able to read electrical schematics and specifications to determine wiring and assembly sequences of test hardware
  • Ensure test stations remain in good working order with focus on preventative maintenance and upgrade requirements
  • Perform tests and summarize test results in graphs, Power Point charts, and written reports
  • Supports manufacturing and/or service group in testing of non-conforming product and analyzing components from field returns
  • Perform diagnostics on non-working equipment, identify issues and implement repairs
  • Capable of working well in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Qualifications

Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field

Required skills and abilities

  • 3+ years experience working hands on in a research and development environment
  • Motivated self-starter with high level of initiative and willingness to suggest and implement improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple tasks
  • Capable of working well in a multi-disciplinary team environment with high degree of collaboration
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Preferred skills and abilities

  • Experience working with electrochemical devices desired
