Responsibilities

The Head of Communication has the overall group governance for, and mandate to execute and oversee activities within:

  • Media & public relations
  • Brand and marketing communication
  • Nel’s digital channels and social media platforms
  • Group messaging
  • Crisis communication and emergency preparedness
  • Public affairs & Government affairs in Norway
  • Internal Communication support
  • CEO office communication

The role has strong interfaces towards Executive management, the CTO office, Director Market Development and Public Affairs as well as the Head of EU Affairs, the Finance team including IR, M&A and ESG reporting team as well as the Strategy office. The Head of Communication reports to the Chief HR Officer.

Qualifications

Education

Good academic results; relevant education master’s degree or equivalent

Preferred skills and abilities

  • Solid experience from corporate communications including experience as team leader
  • Documented international experience and exposure to challenging communication situations
  • Hands on experience from a broad scope of corporate communications activities
  • Experience from working in a stock listed company
  • Excellent communication skills, relationship builder with strong intercultural competence
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken
  • Dedicated and someone who takes “ownership” to tasks and responsibilities
  • Creative, flexible and solution-oriented
  • Structured way of working and hands-on attitude with attention to details
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast changing environments
  • Industry knowledge would be an advantage, ability to learn about the technological background
