About the position

As an HSE Specialist in the QHSE Department, you will be responsible for the daily operations monitoring and safety support for Nel Hydrogen Fueling Stations in the field as well as the operational safety of our manufacturing site in Herning. Safety is our top priority, to ensure maintenance of a smooth service process with safe working environment, you will also support our colleagues in the field with the required information from government safety regulation. To develop and deploy site specific HSE objectives, programs and tools in order to manage risk, to support improvement of industrial operations and to ensure compliance with applicable regulation. You will support and arrange the necessary HSE training for service and installation engineering.
Further you are expected, to participate in the review of safety requirements, to assess health/safety during manufacturing of pressurized Hydrogen Fueling Systems, and furthermore you should participate in the safety review of construction, design, and service manuals. The HSE department is part of QHSE department), and you will refer to the QHSE Manager.

Responsibilities

Safety tasks

  • Permit to Work system, deliver the company PTW training, PH and PI process owner.
  • RAMS assessments and Job hazard analysis for the service and maintenance organization
  • Develop/maintain and use standard risk assessment tools.
  • Participation as a sparring partner in risk assessments of products and processes, including ATEX
  • Participate as a sparring partner in risk assessments of test setups in our test center and in production, as well as for the Working Environment Committee and the Product Safety Committee
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our working environment management system according to ISO 45001
  • Conduct and follow up safety audits for ongoing safety improvements
  • Prepare HSSE plans for specific Sites
  • Participate in Pre-Start Up Safety reviews and in due time lead PSSRs.
  • Monitoring HSE reports and HSE KPI reporting
  • Give professional input to documents and reviews documents (manuals, procedures, checklist
  • Collect feedback from the regional specialists (engineering, operations, aftersales)
  • Train the trainers, contribute to creation of training sessions within Safety
  • Train technicians and engineers within Safety

Documentation tasks

  • Preparation/update and implement relevant procedures and instructions in our OSH management system according to ISO 45001, e.g., service manuals, installation manuals.
  • Check other documentation from other departments for proper safety content and prepare relevant HSSE plans for specific sites to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements
  • Prepare Risk Analyses and Associated Method Statements that result in instructions that ensure the safety of our employees

Qualifications

Education

You possess a relevant educational background on Technician or Engineer level

Required skills and abilities

  • keep yourself up to date with the latest government requirements and standards. E.g., VCA-Vol in the Netherlands

  • Expected travelling 25% of the time.

Competencies

Qualifications:

  • You may have worked for several years as an HSE Specialist within an Industrial machinery manufacturing & construction Company or oil and gas industry.
  • Have a good technical understanding of pressurized systems, and able to read and understand a P&ID
  • You master English as well as Danish both in writing and speaking
  • It will further be a benefit if you have:
    • experience with pressure equipment
    • experience with oil and gas safety training/PTW system.
