About the position

Responsible for analysis of mechanical stress and deformation, fluid flow, load distribution, tolerancing, design for manufacturability, and evaluating options for robotic automation.

Responsibilities

Duties: design, implement, and analyze technical concepts for liquid and gas systems; prepare and maintain specifications, P&ID, bills of materials, test and validation plans, and technical reports; select and integrate components and sub-systems to meet specifications and cost requirements; create drawings for production parts and tooling/fixturing; create manufacturing process drawings to document design specification processes; design for compliance to industry standards; model system performance utilizing commercially available analysis tools; build prototypes of designs to test concepts and improvements; analyze and document system performance in operation and failure modes; cross-functional team member in support of project/product goals; provide system or sub-system technical direction while overseeing testing, validation, and documentation tasks; assess capability to automate manufacturing processes based on increased demand

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Required skills and abilities

  • 3 years experience with electromechanical devices; system or sub-system mechanical design, including operational characteristics and potential interactions that influence overall product performance; and design for manufacturing techniques
  • 2 years experience with manufacturing automation approaches
  • Experience may be gained concurrently
