About the position

An immediate opportunity exists for a qualified candidate with demonstrated project engineering experience and a proven track record with managing complex projects related to automation of precision manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will be excited about automation of assembly and material conversion processes and take pride in deploying automated systems from the initial project kickoff through the achievement of fully autonomous operations. The Project Engineer will provide oversite and support of our Automation Partners to ensure their assigned projects are completed within budget and according to schedule. They will be responsible for reporting on project status, identifying risks, and resolving issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs
  • Conduct regular meetings with the Automation Partners to ensure project clarification and that requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Manage change control and communicate impact in project scope, identify issues, and devise contingency plans
  • Adhere to project engineering policies and procedures, establish project controls, and implement the project execution plan
  • Report project status to management
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Travel to Automation Partner and supplier locations could be required

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university

Required skills and abilities

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Project Engineering experience, including 5 or more years of experience working on complex automation/test projects
  • Solid knowledge of the tools and elements of project engineering
  • Prior technical experience working automation/robotics for both mechanical assembly, material synthesis processes, coating processes and testing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate project information to any level within the company.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking capabilities
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Capable of working well in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus
  • Able to travel (<10%) as needed
