About the position

The QHSE Department is sited in the Fueling HQ in Lind close to Herning, Denmark. The Department consists of Quality Team with 4 Quality Engineers, a Senior Compliance engineer, a Principal Process Safety Engineer, a RCS Program Lead and a HSE Specialist. In the US we further have a small team with an HSE specialist and Senior Process safety Engineer. As our next Senior Compliance Engineer – UL, you are expected to perform analysis of the regulations, codes, and standards (RCS) for North America region (US and Canada), to guide and define the most practical certification process, for getting the station on the market.


  • Analyse marked RCS, when entering new regions or countries.
  • Analyse market approval with UL, UL Canada, and commissioning requirements.
  • Keep an overview of RCS on a product top level.
  • Have the overview of the different design Codes and Standers used for the hydrogen refuelling station.
  • Understand how the design follows the regulations e.g. Most importantly UL listing, but also Machinery Directive, PED, ASME, ATEX, EMC, Low voltage, Compressors, cooling etc.
  • Coordinate the collection of knowledge from the sub-business units, internal design engineers and 3rd parties regarding UL compliance.
  • Coordinate information to engineers in different departments about new or revised Regulations, Codes and Standards.
  • Coordinate gap closure activities when case gaps are found.
  • Participate in the first 3rd party approval process for new products and give inputs on how to integrate the learnings in design guidelines and the product development process.
  • Support the continues design approval process when peak load occurs.
  • Participate in relevant codes and standardization work groups when needed.

Required skills and abilities


  • Have a M.Sc. in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar degree.
  • Have several years demonstrated experience in the design engineering field.
  • Demonstrated experience in pressure systems.
  • Read and understand complex regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Be able to interpret complex topics and communicate this understandable way to non-experts
  • Speak and write English fluently
