About the position

As a Service Technician in Nel Hydrogen A/S – Service department, you will be responsible for Servicing and maintenance of hydrogen filling stations primarily in Northern Europe. The base for our Service department is in Lind near Herning, but as we are developing internationally, with stations in several places in the world, you will also have to work with technicians from other parts of the world. You must expect 100-175 travel days a year, and when you are not working on-site, you are at home at the head office in Herning. Normally, you will work from the service van and most often you will be together with another colleague on a task.
You will report to our Scandinavian Service Manager, and you will receive thorough training before you are sent out on actual service tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that service work on the hydrogen equipment is always carried out in accordance with Nel’s hydrogen safety standards and the customer’s specifications. (You will be certified
    within Permit to Work – PTW)
  • Perform scheduled service, as well as troubleshooting in the event of a sudden breakdown. Breakdown on a station will often require your flexibility in terms of being able to leave for
    site at short notice.
  • Participate in warranty repairs of existing hydrogen fuelling stations.
  • Perform reporting to the R&D department/management about potential faults and quality defects in the equipment.

  • You will have to expect that part of the training will take place in our production department in Herning,
  • During the first 1-2 months of your employment, you will be trained to know the products/procedures.

Required skills and abilities

  • You have maybe just finished your education, as an industrial electrician, or perhaps as a Marine engineer and you have maybe gained technical understanding and experience within troubleshooting on mechanical/technical systems through your education. Most likely you have also shown technical interest before you got your education.
  • You can understand electrical diagrams or technical drawings
  • Experienced in working according to service instructions or procedures/standards.
  • You are structured in your way of working and can work independently
  • Understands that it is important to keep things tidy, both at work and in the service van.
  • You have a desire to travel and to experience the world and can manage in the English Language – on a high level.
  • You may have some experience with service work eg. from the oil/gas industry or similar, where there are high demands on safety.
  • You may have experience working with flammable/explosive gases and with high pressure.
  • You may previously have had travel work, and may have experienced working with customer on his site
  • You must expect to take turns joining other colleagues in a 24-hour telephone hotline
