Key drivers behind the significant growth projected for electrolysis focus around it becoming a lower cost “green” alternative to hydrogen produced by fossil fuels such as natural gas, oil or coal producing 12 to 20 tons of CO₂/ton of hydrogen. In contrast Nel’s electrolysers supplied with water and green electricity produce zero carbon hydrogen.
