The Way Ahead – Stage Presentations

On 6 May 2026, Nel hosted a product launch event at its Herøya facility in Norway to mark the commercial introduction of its next-generation pressurised alkaline electrolyser platform. The event brought together technology and operational perspectives on a system more than eight years in the making - one designed to fundamentally change the cost structure of industrial-scale green hydrogen production. Chief Technology Officer Marius Løken's presentation covers the engineering principles behind the platform, including its modular skid-based architecture, 15-bar pressurised operation, and the proprietary innovations that differentiate it from conventional alkaline systems. VP Alkaline Operations Mats Bohman's presentation takes a closer look at the manufacturing line at Herøya, detailing how the platform is being industrialised to enable production at scale.
