On October 5th, 2021, a new Nel hydrogen refuelling station (H2station™) opened in the Netherlands, at the Shell station in Amsterdam-Westpoort.

“Hydrogen can play a key role in the Dutch energy transition as well as in the field of mobility. We see a growing demand for our H2station™ fueling stations around larger cities, where especially taxi fleets enjoy the long range and quick refueling in fuel cell electric vehicles,” says Martin Borum Pedersen, Financial Advisor & Climate Ambassador at Nel.

Together with other Nel colleagues and Shell’s General Manager Mobility BeNeLux and France, Jeanine Bakx, Martin was present at the launch and officially opened the station on October 5th.

“Our H2station™ is very well integrated into the Shell station in Amsterdam. The installation and site work has gone very well, and it is a pleasure to hear, that Shell, our customer, is happy about our work and the co-operation,” says Martin.

The H2station™ represents the next generation in hydrogen fueling for fuel cell cars, buses, trucks and trains. It offers fast fueling with the world’s most compact footprint. The design is based on years of R&D and operational experience, and is renowned for providing high fueling reliability. It features the world’s first dedicated hydrogen compressor, the most efficient and contamination free hydrogen compressor on the market today.
