EU Affairs 2023

Summary

Governments globally are striving to implement effective decarbonisation policies, with clean tech manufacturing at the heart of these efforts.

The United States, China, and the European Union (EU) are all investing heavily in this area, with the EU in particular focusing on renewable hydrogen and electrolyser technology.

As a leader in electrolyser manufacturing, Nel has signed a Joint Declaration with the European Commission, committing to help achieve the EU’s goal of producing 10 million tons of renewable hydrogen by 2030.

However, a clear regulatory framework and financial tools are needed to stimulate final investment decisions for renewable hydrogen projects and increase manufacturing capacities.

This brochure outlines our policy positions on key topics and laws being legislated at EU level today.
